Office freezing issues. excel freezes up, out look freezes up

Hello we have been having this issue on and off for about 3 years now.

we have about 10 computers running office 365 and require excel.

our company is heavily reliant on excel spreadsheets with macros.

All of the computers in the office are i7-i9 8700k and up to i9 12k

of course other supporting hardware is there along with nvme ssd's

we have a 1gb connection and have very fast nas drives holding all these files.

We experience outlook and excel freezing up to the point where you have to close it to get it to work often. I have tired every setting from disabling graphics acceleration to office 365 repair tool. i have reinstalled windows on many of these devices and fresh installed everything. some days it works great some days excel will lock up many times throughout the day. the people who created these macro excel sheets dont have any issues.  what else can i do to help resolve this issue?

Outlook will freeze up sometimes as well but usually a reinstall fixes it.
