OFFICE 365 BUSINESS EXCEL WINDOWS 11 FREEZING
There is a serious compatibility issue with Office 365 For Business and Windows 11. It is file independent and it does not occur on my windows 10 machine running Office 365. I ran Office 365/Windows 11 for 6 months prior to this issue arising. For the past month I have been experiencing the following symptoms despite following all the recommendations from Microsoft to fix the issue including reinstalling windows, reinstalling and repairing Office, not loading addins or com addins, unchecking various dde boxes, starting isn safe mode, opening and closing several cases with Microsoft Support, etc:
- Excel works for 10 to 15 minutes
- Excel randomly begins to gobble memory (I have watched my task manager resister that it has grabbed up to 28 gig of ram (i have a 32 gig box)
- Once this occurs excel becomes unresponsive to mouse clicks and there is nothing I can do to get it to respond
- The only glimmer of good news is that I can save my file without issues and exit excel
I am beyond frustrated. I am hoping other users have some idea what is causing this.
Thanks in advance
- JKPieterseSilver ContributorWhat happens if you add a new user account to the same machine and then use Excel?

JKPieterse Thanks for the idea. I will check that out. This week it was stable. I have no idea why. I hope it stays that way.
- Malcolm_LloydCopper ContributorIs your system a desktop with a 4k monitor?
If this is case, can you try to use alternative e.g. HD and see if this resolves problem.
Know that this may not be long term issue but might point in direction of a 'memory leakage' problem/conflict between pc/Office/GPU.
Have had similar issue with my desktop, W11 and Office 2021/Excel
