No stocks button/option
Hello VVermeulen,
If the Stocks data type is missing in both Excel for Mac and Excel Online, the issue is account-level provisioning rather than the Excel app or version. When a Microsoft 365 subscription is purchased through Apple ID, the account may not be fully provisioned for cloud-connected data types such as Stocks and Geography. In these cases, Excel appears activated but the Stocks button is removed from the Data tab, including in Excel Online.
To check, go to Subscriptions and verify whether the subscription shows “Microsoft 365 (Apple)” instead of Microsoft 365 Personal or Family. If it shows “Microsoft 365 (Apple),” Stocks may not be available. The resolution is to cancel the Apple-billed subscription, re-subscribe directly from Microsoft using Microsoft 365 Personal or Family, and then sign out and back into Excel on both desktop and web. The Stocks button will appear automatically once the account is re-provisioned.
Also ensure that Optional connected experiences are enabled at https://account.microsoft.com/privacy, as the in-app Excel setting alone is not sufficient.
