New data sheet - same fill in form
I have a workbook that has one sheet with a lot of data. Another sheet in the same workbook is a form that fills in data automatically using an assigned line number from the data sheet - I believe a macro was used to create this. I would like to create a new data sheet for this coming year but still be able to fill in the same form using the information in the new data sheet. How does the form know which data sheet to get the information from?

Your description is a little too vague for anybody to answer specifically with confidence.
- "a lot of data"
- "I believe a macro was used"
How much data? How is it organized? It's reasonable to assume it's in the form of a table with regular columns containing comparable data in each column. If that's the case, it would be quite easy to extract a row's worth of data to the form, and you wouldn't need to use a macro; there are formulas/functions that could do the work.
Why do you want to start a new sheet for the new year? It's generally wiser to keep a single database running, because Excel excels at taking data, and slicing and dicing it, from a single well designed database. So, for example, if each row in the current database has a date associated with it, you would just continue providing a date. Excel knows the difference between 1/1/23 and 1/1/24. If you don't currently have a date with each row, add a column with--at the minimum--the year, and then keep that single database running through next year, and the next, and the next.
Having said all that, is it in any way possible for you to give us a look at the actual workbook? Just make sure there's no confidential or proprietary data in it, or render anonymous that which is confidential or proprietary . Put that workbook on OneDrive or GoogleDrive and paste a link here that grants access to it,
