by clicking File then Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings...>ActiveX Settings and disable Safe mode
restart office and it works
TY! Also worked for me. Sadly, too many others will suffer this nightmare before MS realizes what a goat rodeo we all go through to reach this conclusion.
