Need help ASAP with an EXCEL formula!

I need a formula to get a total of the numeric data only from the following two cells: Cell 1: 45 mins AM Cell 2: 25 mins PM Please help!!

=SUM(--LEFT(D7:D8,2))

Thank you. I tried it and got this error:
Error
The default output of this reference is a single cell in the same row but a matching value could not be found. To get the values for the entire range use the ARRAYFORMULA function.

  The error is you are not using Excel.

    Is there any chance you know how to do it for Google Sheet?
