MY EXCEL DOING FUNNYTHINGS

USING EXCELL WITH OFFICE 2016 IN COMPATIBILITY MODE. DONE HUNDREDS WITH THIS. TODAY I COPIED A PRIOR MONTHLY REPORT, SAVED IT WITH A SAVED AS, AND PROCEDED TO MODIFY IT FOR THE CURRENT MONTH. IT IS DOING STRANGE THINGS. I HAVE ALWAYS ENTERED A NUMBER, CLICKED ANY OF THE UP DOWN KEYS, IT WOULD SAVE THE NUMBER AND MOVE UP OR DOWN. THIS TIME WITH THE DOWN ARROW, IT WOULD ENTER ANOTHER DIGIT TO THE NUMBER, AND NOT MOVE. TRIED THE SAME THING WITH THE UP KEY AND-USUALLY- IT WENT UP AND SAVED THE NUMBER. I NOTICED A SECTION OF ONE COLUMN HAD MOVED DOWN ONE ROW. NEVER HAD PROBLEM LIKE THIS. IT SEEMS TO ME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET AN UPDATE OR WHAT ELSE THIS CAN BE.

  • Perhaps your num lock has turned on? In future posts, please do not type in all capitals, it is very hard to read and considered as shouting.

That appears to be it. Thank you for the info. Some work I do on taxes requires all caps, but I can see why it might be offensive. It's a good habit to get out of.
