Microsoft 365 account, Excel Power Pivot

Hi, I subscribed to Microsoft 365 Does anyone know if - and how - is possible to subscribe or receive the Excel Power Pivot and Power Query add-ons? thanks indeed Fabio

    Hello fabiodiprimaoutlook ,

     

    You will need to ensure the Microsoft Power Pivot add-in within Excel is enabled.

    Kindly launch Excel with administrator privileges.

    1. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.

    2. In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins> Go.

    3. Check the Microsoft Office Power Pivot box, and then click OK. If you have other versions of the Power Pivot add-in installed, those versions are also listed in the COM Add-ins list. Be sure to select the Power Pivot add-in for Excel.

     

    Power Pivot is an add-in that is built into some versions of Office. This is usually used when performing a complex data analysis in Excel. Regarding your concern, can you confirm if the Power Pivot ribbon was the one that got removed or was it the actual Power Pivot add-in was removed from the list of add-ins in Excel?

     

    In the meantime, here’s how Power Pivot is enabled before using it for the first time:

    1. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
    2. In the Manage box, click COM Add-insGo.
    3. Check the Microsoft Office Power Pivot box, and then click OK. If you have other versions of the Power Pivot add-in installed, those versions are also listed in the COM Add-ins list. Be sure to select the Power Pivot add-in for Excel.

     

    To restore the Power Pivot menu, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
    2. In the Manage box, click Disabled Items > Go.
    3. Select Microsoft Office Power Pivot and then click Enable.

     

    Just in case that the previous steps were not able to restore the Power Pivot ribbon, or if the ribbon itself disappears when you close and open the Excel again, try these:

    1. Close Excel.
    2. Point to Start > Run and then type regedit.
    3. In Registry Editor, expand this registry key:
      If you have Excel 2013HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > 15.0 > User Settings.


      If you have Excel 2016HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > 16.0 User Settings
    4. Right-click PowerPivotExcelAddin and then click Delete.
    5. Scroll back up to the top of Registry Editor.
    6. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software Microsoft Office Excel Addins.
    7. Right-click PowerPivotExcelClientAddIn.NativeEntry.1 and then click Delete.
    8. Close Registry Editor.
    9. Relaunch the Excel app.
    10. Enable the add-in using the steps at the top of this response.

     

    Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
