making cells that will pop up or expand into editable notes
I have a spreadsheet that has a lot of rows of data, so I need to keep the row height small for ease of lookup and use. The field at the end is for notes, but without making the cell obnoxiously long...
There is the option to insert a 'comment'. Right click on a cell and select 'new comment'. Then when you hover you can see the comment.
Other than that, your suggestion could be done using a macro.
