Mac Excel Chart Element Help

Just curious if anyone knows how to enable the ‘+’ feature that should be attached the charts. Mine on my MacBook doesn’t exist and I’m not sure if this is a Mac issue or it just isn’t enabled somewhere.

I am aware the formal drop down is on the upper left however I want the quicker drop down enabled.
