lock date

Question

I'm trying to lock the date to the date that particular workbook was created. I create many estimates for work, at the moment the date displays todays date, but if i open it again tomorrow, it will display tomorrow's date. I don't want this , i want it to create todays date and stay at that. Or will I just have manually type in the date each time. Can any body help?

ps. I use the same workbook/spreadsheet/template as the basis of ALL my estimates.

I'd enter the data manually: press Ctrl+; to insert the current date as a fixed value.
&nbsp;
It would also be possible to use VBA code, but that is overkill IMHO.
