Lock cells compatible with Google Sheets

Hello

I have already locked the cells and protected the sheet, however, when someone tries to edit the protected cells using another app such as Google sheets, the protection is gone. They are able to edit the cells. Does anybody know if there is a way I can lock cells in excel so it is compatible with other platforms?
