Links to an external excel file
Hello, I have an excel file with VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP cells referencing to another excel file (MASTER data file). If I change the MASTER file name, the other file won't update the referenced file nam...
If you change the filename of the master workbook in Windows Explorer, Excel doesn't "know" that.
You can change the source of the links in File > Info > Edit Links to Files.
Alternatively:
- Open both the master workbook and the workbook with the links.
- Activate the master workbook and press F12 to activate the Save As dialog.
- Save the master workbook under a new name and then close it.
- Save the workbook with the links.
