Link inside xls file changes automatically following download from Google chrome or Mozzilla

We encountered this problem where:

- xls file with a list of hyperlinks to other documents (Word or PDF) is uploaded online (Sharepoint)

- users then download this xls file using either Google Chrome or Firefox, all the hyperlinks in the list of links change and are no longer working

- for some reason the problem does not occur with Microsoft Edge

anyone encounter the same problem, any solution?
