Limiting the data used to calculate a trendline
Hello,
Many of us calculate trendlines on Excel graphs. Sometimes the data includes many outliers that should not be included in the calculations. Is there any quick way to limit the data included? For example, In some applications one can draw a polygon around the points to be used for the trendline so that those outside the polygon are excluded.
Thanks,
David

what i do is create a copy of that data set I want the trendline for as a new series and then perform trendline on that series. In this way you can even show via color or data point shapes or line types which data is included in the trendline and which is not
