letter by letter comparison
- Aug 11, 2018
I think I've done.. I hope so anyway.
Thank you Philip,
I am not an expert, but I guess it is a classic request, to compare a certain text with a column, and if no match occurs, then copy that cell to another column ...
Awaiting your kind response ... Thanks

Thank you Mr. West,
It is working ... actually, if there are numbers in the column, then it isn't ... but there aren't any numbers in my requirement, so it is perfect ...
Thank you so much ... I hope I could repay your favor.
PS. I apologize for the late response ...

:D
I think it was my mistake. I've made a quick change and it seems to be working with the examples you gave. Fingers crossed.

Dear Philip,
Many thanks for your continuous support ... in the beginning, I thought that's it ... but I discovered a fatal bug in it ... once you write certain matching values, the last value is selected in the column as 'non-match', although it matches.
In the attached photo, we put the letters (from a to n) in column1, and (abcdef) in the test cell, we got the letter (f) in the non-matching column (column e), although (f) is there... after doing many tests, it seems the macro is somehow still taking matching value as the old one you sent me earlier, while in the other hand the matching values are disappearing from column1 perfectly without bugs, so all that I need is for non matching values to be in a separate column... you may kindly see the other test with regards to the second photo (testing 'azn').
Thank you big times
