If the last row in your Excel workbook is consistently formatted with cell fill shading, even after using the "Clear Formatting" function, you can try the following steps to fix it:

    1. Select the entire last row: Click on the row number of the last row in your workbook to select the entire row.
    2. Clear the cell formatting: Right-click on the selected row, and from the context menu, choose "Format Cells."
    3. In the "Format Cells" dialog box, go to the "Fill" tab.
    4. Select the option for "No Fill" or choose a color that matches the surrounding cells. This will remove the cell fill shading.
    5. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a predefined formatting rule or conditional formatting applied to the last row. In that case, you can try the following additional steps:

    1. Select the entire last row as before.
    2. Go to the "Home" tab in the Excel ribbon.
    3. In the "Styles" group, click on the "Conditional Formatting" button.
    4. Choose "Clear Rules" and then select "Clear Rules from Entire Sheet." This will remove any existing formatting rules or conditional formatting from the last row.
    5. Click on the "Format" button in the "Styles" group and select "Clear" -> "Clear Formats." This will remove any remaining formatting applied to the last row.

If the issue persists, it is possible that the workbook contains macros or VBA code that is automatically applying the formatting to the last row. In that case, you may need to examine the workbook's VBA code and make changes to prevent the formatting from being applied.

If none of these suggestions resolve the issue, it might be helpful to share the specific version of Excel you are using and any additional details about the workbook or data, Operating system, storage medium, etc.. The text and the steps were created with the help of AI. .
