Inserting Links Into Spreadsheets

Is it possible to insert a link into an entire column of a spreadsheet that takes the user to a word document that they can edit and save with information that pertains to just that line of the spreadsheet?

For example: My spreadsheet has contact information. I want to be able to click on the box containing the link that will take me to a document where I can add notes specific to that line of contact information (such as times contacted and information exchanged).  Will I have to make unique links for each line? Will I have to make X number of copies of the same document? Is there a way to make it so the link is the same and the document is the same but when edited it keeps the edits pertaining to that specific line?
