Insert Slicer
Trying to setup a slicer option in a table, not a pivot table and it is grayed out. Sheet is not protected what would cause this option to not be available?

Hi Andy_Carden
what Excel version do you use? Slicers on formatted tables only since Excel 2013 and newer. In Excel 2010, slicers can only used with Pivot tables.

Martin_Weiss Thank you for the quick response, I am using Excel on a Mac, most current version.

Andy_Carden Perhaps a silly question, but are you using a structured table? If not see a Table ribbon and on the Insert ribbon the Slicer and Timeline buttons will be greyed out. Slicers on Mac works just like ones on the PC.

Hi Andy_Carden
ok, if the sheet is not protected, there is only thing I can think of:
Is the workbook saved in the old XLS format? This also would make slicers unavailable.
