I used to operate Excel 2016 reasonably competently but TRIPLE BYPASS OPERATION HAS IMPAIRE ME

I am trying to achieve the simplest task, getting a total for figures from f13 to f27, the formula in the fortmula bar is =SUM(F13:F27) but it doesn't work no total appears in th chosen cell, I have formatted the column as  currency with two decimal places, please, what am i doing wrong.

  • As you describe the situation, you have done nothing wrong.
    Are you sure F13:F27 actually contains numbers, not text?

    I hope your recovery (body and mind) goes well.

      PeterBartholomew1  Thank you so much for your help and your good wishes, if I had known my cognitive ability would be impaired I would not have had the procedure and taken my chances. one other question, how should i format the cells in the column, I am only entering dollar amounts, General, Number, accounting etc......

        Just keep active.  The effects of anaesthetic wear off over time!

        Try currency format.  If the currency symbols do not show, you do not have numbers.
