I can't discard changes to see the current version of the file
I have below message displayed: regardless of which option I choose I get pop up saying Your changes can't be discarded.

You may try to clean C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache

You are welcome. Restart - maybe, I did that couple of times but long ago and don't remember all details.

Instead of opening a new conversation, since my issue is the same, thought I would extend... is there anyway to auto clear the OfficeFileCache? Right now, I have the folder saved as a shortcut on my desktop and go in and delete every so often. Since I work on several sites loading / changing files, etc, not that unexpected that I need to do this, especially since some of the file names are the same but are on different sites. However, now starting to have normal users report issues that are cleared up by clearing this folder. Is this something that perhaps IT needs to build into the startup script? Or is there some setting in SharePoint that can used?

1) Open Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
2) Click on Options.
3) Click on Save.
4) Click on Delete cached files.- bryanhuang3Aug 17, 2022Copper ContributorThis worked for me, no restart required but had to close the file. Thanks!

Maybe, maybe not. You may try - delete cached file this way, go to folder and check it - it still could have few gigabytes of files insides, depends on how deep was the history after previous cleaning.
