I can't close the last file i opened
Hmm... I can think of no reason at all why what you describe would be happening. I often have multiple files open at the same time, and never have any problem closing them in any random order. Some are even linked together by formula references in one to the other; that too presents no barriers to closing any one of them before the other, in any order.
So perhaps you could be so kind as to give a more complete description of the context in which you're working.....
- are these multiple Excel files on your computer, in a cloud service (if so, which one)..etc.?
- Are you doing this comparison electronically, by formula, or mechanically (i.e., visually) just looking back and forth between the two?
- And so forth.
Describe the full sequence of how you're opening, how you're comparing, and so forth.

Hi mathetes
All the files are in my computer, the comparison is just visually, all of them are very simple, with just a few formulas and there are not relationship between files.
I'm completely lost about this, because is something that never happened before, I already check my computer for updates, viruses, etc. and I can't find anything wrong.

As I said in ending my last message:
"Describe the full sequence of how you're opening, how you're comparing, and so forth"---
You've not done that. You've told me that the files are on your computer, and that you do a visual comparison.
But if we're to get to the bottom of it, we really need a step-by-step description of the procedure you're going through, from first opening to final closing. What error message (if any) you get that says "you can't close this file until you close that one" or whatever it is that lets you know you must close yours first.
I apologize for being a nit-picker about this, but it often is the case with situations that can't be explained, with abnormal situations, that the details are what matter. Even what appear to be insignificant details.
