How to use date forumla

Found this awesome https://templates.office.com/en-us/Timeline-with-milestones-yellow-TM03987160, but can't figure out how to use the dates without messing up the formula. Can anyone help?

    Hi Karla,

     

    In Date column of the table you may insert any date in your local format instead of formula. If in template

    =DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),2,24)

    you may simply change it on 2018-02-24 (in my locale I use ISO date format).

    If you'd like to change date format in graph double click on axis with dates and change template format

    on any one your prefer. e.g.
