How to type in a one cell and have span across multiple cells in excel
Created an account just to answer this old question. No offense to others, but if you cant answer the question directly, dont bother. So, highlight the current text that is truncated, copy paste and save it in a another cell for the moment. Go back and click the cell you started the text in (but not the text itself) and using shift + arrow key(s) the cells near it, I like to highlight the length of the text across the cells below. Then right click, clear contents, right-click that cell again, select format, select numbers on top tabs, then Text in the sub-menu category, click ok. Fin!
Go back and copy paste the original text and should work. Most likely, there was some formatting in the cell from before you needed to get rid of. Worst case if that doesn't work, cut the entire row and the new row should work, but to me that's the nuclear option. I'm sure OP figured this out, but this is for the next person, as the other answers are insulting and victim-blaming. GL!
