If your Excel workbook is experiencing slowness after adding hyperlinks to a column, there are a few potential causes and solutions you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Excessive Hyperlinks: First, ensure that you don't have an excessive number of hyperlinks in the column. Having too many hyperlinks in a single column can significantly slow down Excel, especially if each hyperlink requires additional resources to load.
    2. Evaluate Hyperlink Formatting: If the hyperlinks are formatted in a complex or resource-intensive way (e.g., using custom fonts, colors, or styles), consider simplifying the formatting to improve performance. Complex formatting can increase the file size and processing time, leading to slower performance.
    3. Optimize Workbook Size: Large workbook size can also contribute to Excel's slowness. Remove any unnecessary data, formatting, or unused worksheets to reduce the overall size of the workbook.
    4. Disable Automatic Calculation: Excel recalculates formulas and updates data automatically, which can slow down performance, especially in large workbooks. You can temporarily disable automatic calculation by navigating to the Formulas tab, clicking on Calculation Options, and selecting "Manual." Remember to recalculate manually when necessary by pressing F9.
    5. Update Excel and Office: Ensure that you're using the latest version of Excel and Microsoft Office. Microsoft regularly releases updates and patches to address performance issues and improve overall stability.
    6. Use Paste Values: If you're copying and pasting hyperlinks from external sources, consider pasting the values instead of the hyperlinks themselves. This can help reduce the complexity of the workbook and improve performance.
    7. Check for Circular References: Circular references in your workbook can cause Excel to recalculate repeatedly, leading to slower performance. Use the "Error Checking" feature in Excel to identify and resolve any circular references.
    8. Close Other Applications: Closing other resource-intensive applications running concurrently with Excel can free up system resources and improve performance.
    9. Hardware Considerations: If you consistently experience slowness with Excel, it may be worth considering hardware upgrades, such as increasing RAM or upgrading to a faster processor, to improve overall performance.

By implementing these solutions, you should be able to address the slowness issue in Excel caused by adding hyperlinks to a column. Experiment with these suggestions to find the combination that works best for your specific situation.

If none of these steps help you, I recommend adding more information to your topic. Information such as Excel version, operating system, storage medium, file extension, etc.
