How to disable sequential numbering for a *specific* column in spreadsheet?
None of these solutions is working for me. I'm on a Mac, and having this problem with dates in a column.
I want to drag/copy dates for several rows in a column whose format is set to date, and it keeps counting up to the next date rather than copying the same date.
Tried changing format to General and Text. The only thing that did was make it sequentially increase the year instead of date.
Tried holding down Command, Option (alt), Control, and Shift while dragging, and none worked.

iwasamy On a Mac you need to press and hold Alt while dragging. No Shift, Cmd or ctrl. Just Alt. The cursor will change from a larger black + to one with a smaller + sign above and to the right of it.

As I stated, I tried alt drag. Here's the result.
I've tried them all systematically, and none works.

It seems like you use dates like m/d/yyyy, because August 5 became August 6 when you dragged it down. Exactly as it should.
