How to Automatically update a text

How would I be able to have a cell automatically update a text from another cell. For example, if I have a city in one cell (B3) called Shreveport, and I want it to also automatically fill in cell K3 when I type Shreveport in cell B3. And then when I delete Shreveport in B3 and type Columbus in B3, I want it to automatically update to Columbus in K3.

Thanks for any help.

To accomplish your example is easy. So easy, in fact, that one wants to ask you "Are you really wanting to do this? Or is there something else going on?"

Anyway, to do what you give as your example, nothing more, nothing less, just enter in cell K3 this formula =B3

It will fill, then (in K3) with whatever is in B3; Shreveport, blank, Columbus....whatever.

But is that really what you're wanting? Or is there something else?

It was that easy.  My brain was just not working well I needed someone else to kick it.  Thanks

  • In K3, enter =B3.

Whenever you entered data in B3, it will update in K3 also .. The same happens when you delete the value in B3..
