How do you update source data in a pivot table ?

I currently replace my source data in a pivot table - delete old data; paste new data.

 

Is there a better way to update pivot tables?  Can I update without touching the data, i.e., using a link or external file?

    Yes of course you can. How you would do that depends on where your data currently is, can you share that information?

      JKPieterse I have data in a CSV/XLSX.  Right now I copy and paste the data.  I don't want to do the cut, copy/paste.

      I can access the data using a REST API

        Have a look at the features under the Data Tab, especially the "Get Data" button (in your Excel it may be named differently, for eaxmple "New Query").
