How do I format a cell to turn red if any cells in a column are red.

conditional formatting can not look at the color of cells.  Assuming the red in that column is already based on a conditional formatting rule, you can do a custom formula to combine rules in that column.  I don't understand what you want to turn red nor the rules already present so more details or sample sheet is needed to suggest specific rules.  Just an FYI, you can use * as an AND and + as an OR so =(cond 1)*(cond 2) + (cond 3) would be true for "Cond 1" AND "Cond 2"  OR "Cond 3" being true.
