Holding Shift and tab through worksheet
For some reason I am no longer able to simply hold down the shift key and hit tab to copy consecutive cells, rows, or columns and I do not know how to fix. I use this all the time - can someone please help me. I know it is probably simple, but simple answers are harder to find than more complex ones. thanks - Tony

Press
Move to the previous cell in a worksheet or the previous option in a dialog.

In my experience, Excel has always worked like this...

Hello Hans,
Thanks for the reply, but…that is the problem.
What you explained is how I always did it, but I must have clicked something on the tool bar that changed this procedure.
If I move to a previous cell, hold shift, then click tab, nothing happens. It doen not move or include etc.
What I need to do now is …from previous cell hold shift and then click on each additional cell with the mouse.
Very frustrating.
Do you understand?

Do you want to select multiple non-adjacent cells? If so, hold down Ctrl and click on each cell (don't use Tab).
