I need help with a formula for conditional formatting. Column v and w have data that are dates. This data is conditionally formatted to highlight when dates are past due or coming up to be expir...

If I do that the entire column ends up highlighted because the conditions in column V and W are based on the dates. The highlight condition for the cell in column X cannot be based on the dates in column X. I just need the cells in column X to highlight IF and only IF the cells on that row for column V or W are highlighted.
Example. Cell W5 is highlighted green because that date is to expire next month. I need the cell X 5 to highlight BECAUSE W5 highlighted.

Please either provide a sample workbook, or tell us exactly what the rules for V and W are.

Select column X. X1 should be the active cell in the selection.
On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Conditional Formatting > New Rule...
Select 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'.
Enter the formula=OR(AND($W1>0, $W1<=EOMONTH(TODAY(), 1)), AND($X1>0, $X1<=EOMONTH(TODAY(), 1)))
Click Format...
Activate the Fill tab.
Select a fill color.
Click OK, then click OK again.
