Help to automatically have 2025 as year in excel, Date System

Microsoft 365, Windows 11, I used "1904 Date System" and the years starts at 2002.

I unchecked the "1904 Date System" and the years starts at 2007.

I see no option beside "1904 Date System" for "1900 Date System".

I need my excel to understand every time I enter Aug 4, it will automatically enter August 4, 2025

  • If you originally had '1904 Date System' checked, then clear it, the active workbook will automatically use the '1900 Date System'. There are no other systems apart from those two. All existing dates in the active workbook will shift 4 years and 1 day backwards. For example, August 18, 2025 will become August 17, 2021. Dates in other workbooks will not be affected.

When you enter only a month and day, Excel will always assume the current year. But if you check or clear the '1904 Date System' check box after that, the date will change.
