washingtonalto , just an update that I was able to find a simple workaround for this issue by breaking the connection between the month in the slicer with the pivot table. See attached below. The issue is now closed.
I kept on thinking of the solution for days but then the solution came when I think out of the box. This helped me resolved the issue I raised.
