Help look into this

I have two column whereby one is list of places while the other is the LGA those places fall under. How do I input a place and the LGA comes up in the next column automatically. It's just like typing a country and the continent that country falls under comes up in the next column. Thanks in anticipation.

    list all countries/places with their associated continent/LGA -see pic.1-    Now in your data column where you want the continent/LGA appears automatically, use an INDEX and MATCH and IFERROR functions -see pic.2- 

     

    =IFERROR(INDEX(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$263;MATCH($A2;Sheet1!$C$2:$C$263;0);1);"")
