Group symbols are not visible
Hello,
first of all, my English acc. Excel is not good.
Now, I cannot see the +/- symbols when grouping columns or rows is activated in a certain file.
It works in an new file and it worked in the same file a couple days, ago. I can't remember what I'd changed. After I click grouping the selected colums won't hide and only a tiny symbol without function appears:
I tried some more:
I wondered why in my sheet the last rows are not shown:In that case you don't have to change height of all rows. Instead:
Mark the last row and pull the mouse down (or hit Ctrl+arrow down) to mark the "hidden" rows and watch the upper left corner:
And then change the row height to e.g. 10. That's all.

Hi Torsten69
if the grouping symbols do not appear, please check the Excel options. This option must be activated:

Hello Mr. Weiss,
that option is already activated. I tried to see the difference with/without that option (by ctrl+7).
without that option that tiny symbol just disappears.
It doesn't help to copy the entire worksheet in a new file, either.
So, I think it has to do with some formating - e.g. the format of the outline/grouping itself. But I dont know exactly what and what I changed to force that error.

OK! with the new learned english word "outline" 😉 😉 I searched for a solution, again ....
And found that one, including a possible explanation:You have to select
ALLcells and change the row height. It doesn't matter whether to 5 or to 15. You will see that the outline symbol size depends on the (average?) row height, for whatever reason.
