Grabbing data from separate file via a button? or automatically?

Hi all :)

 

Let me explain what I an trying to achieve and hopefully someone can help me.

 

I have a excel sheet (lets call it "LocalStore") that I need to populate (rather update) data on a regular basis from a separate excel document (lets call this, "dailydata").

Ie, the LocalStore excel page, might look like this..

Monthly Book Sales 12

Ly Monthly Book Sales 15

YTD Book Sales 55

Ly YTD Book Sales 62

 

This information would be contained in "DailyData" however so would another 100 or more stores. The DailyData also does not always generate in the same order. So I would need it to grab the Data from the DailyData file, based on store name entered into the LocalStore file if that makes sense.

 

I would need it so I could hit a button or do this automatically when opening if possible? Whatever is easiest or possible.

 

I have no idea if this can be easily solved or assisted with, I really appreciate any help. Thanks,

    Sorry, but without clear enough explanation, I don't think that anyone here can help you!

    Please write some notes and explanations inside the workbooks and upload them in a reply!

    And let us know what the version of Excel you have, to provide you with a compatible solution if we could!
