Get external data from web not showing
Hi
I don't know why there's suddenly activity on this very old thread, but much has changed since it originated. The current update is no longer 16.23. Now it's 16.63.1 so you can see there have many intervening updates.
I think the answer for version 16.23 and all versions including the current channel update version is to use the Menu Bar and choose Data > Get External Data > Run Web Query. For more information on how to build a web query, visit this page: Making and using Excel Web Queries (agentjim.com)
- Utkarsh234Jan 14, 2024Copper ContributorAs on Jan 2024, it worked for me. I had been struggling to import currency exchange rate data in Excel 2019 Mac version. Just follow the steps outlined in the above link.

JimGMac Thought we were talking Power Query here. "Run web query" isn't really that. Or did I miss something?

unfortunately this does not allow me to input a URL (I'm on mac), although it seems downloading HTML files and uploading them manually works for now (thank you for pointing this out though!) Riny_van_Eekelen

Hi again,
Based on the wording of and the original date of the question, I think the original reference was about Web Query instead of PowerQuery.
A lot has changed since the original question was asked. This screen shot shows the current PowerQuery connectors available in Excel for Mac for unrestricted subscribers who have updated to version 16.64 (coming out mid-August. Some users may see all or some of these with the July update.

but there is no web connector in PQ for the Mac, as your screenshot confirms. I know, as I'm am an insider beta user on Excel for the Mac as well.
