• Once I have the sum of one column, how do I find the sum of other columns without retyping the formula each time? 

So long as your formula is along the lines of =sum(A2:A100) then you can simply copy from column A to all the other columns that encompass the same rows.

That would not work if you somehow have the absolute reference in it (i.e., something along the lines of =SUM($A$1:$A$100).
