I am trying to auto-populate winners from a list of participants that each have times for an obstacle course. I already have a ranked column in another sheet, but am trying to make a totals/winners sheet all on its own and am not sure if there is a way to auto-populate 1st place through 3rd place winners from a column of names. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

    Suppose the names are in column A and their times in column B, then you can use this formula (with ranges adjusted appropriately):

     

     

     

    =TAKE(SORTBY(A2:A10,B2:B10,1),3)

     

     

     

    i.e.

    Take the top three rows from the names after sorting them in ascending order by time.
