Just tried that but cell A12 still returns 1

    Thank you for your response. I tried several times to do as you showed with no result. I finally closed Excel and restarted my computer and tried it again and now it works perfectly. Any ideas why this would happen?

      GerdS55 Glad it worked out, though I can't explain why restarting your PC did it.
