The "best practice" is not assume that any of the FORECAST functions is a solution to your problem.
It is premature to suggest any forecasting approach without knowing what your historical data looks like. The FORECAST function presumes a linear trend in the historical data. The FORECAST.ETS function presumes a repetitive ("cyclical") pattern. GIGO!
If you want credible assistance from this forum (any forum), the first step would be to present the 2 years of data that you have (*). Of course, the data should be redacted. It should only include numbers and dates, for example.
That said, don't expect much from anyone in this forum, unless something obvious "leaps" out at us from the data. Forecasting is as much an art as it is science. We might use formulas to extrapolate the data. But at the end of the day, no one can predict the future; and the "correctness" of any forecast is in the eye of the beholder. Again, GIGO!

(*) The best way to present the data is in a file that you attach by clicking "browse" at the bottom of the reply window. If the forum does not permit that (yet), upload the file to a file-sharing website, and post the download URL. I like box.net/files; others like dropbox.com. You might like onedrive.live.com because it uses the same login as this forum.
If the forum does not permit you to enter a URL verbatim, you can spell out part of it manually. For example, this thread is at techcommunity dot microsoft dot com /t5/excel/forecast-attrition/m-p/3608031 .
