finding the equation of the trendline
How do I find the equation of the trendline line on the graph (under “more options”) along with the r squared value (coefficient of determination).

You could simply display the values on the chart or calculate them as HansVogelaar suggests.
For a linear trendline, see the LINEST function
For an exponential trendline, there is a similar LOGEST function.
