Exporting Boards from Monday.com to Excel
I am having difficulty exporting boards from Monday.com to Excel. Is it possible that the issue is the version of Excel (2016) that I am using? I was able to export (and open) the Monday board to Excel using my phone, but have not been able to export/open on my computer for two weeks. It was working just fine previously. The error message that I am receiving is that the file is corrupt and it will not open.
Not an Excel issue---but, I am also having trouble opening some files using Word (2016). I was able to export the Monday board to Adobe (2020).

The issue you're facing with exporting boards from Monday.com to Excel might not necessarily be related to the version of Excel you're using, but there could be various factors at play.
Here are a few general troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check File Format:
- When exporting from Monday.com, ensure that you are selecting a compatible file format, such as XLSX for Excel.
- Try exporting the file in a different format and see if that opens without any issues.
- Excel Version Compatibility:
- Check if Monday.com has any specific requirements or recommendations regarding Excel versions for compatibility. Sometimes, newer features may not be fully supported in older Excel versions.
- Browser Compatibility:
- If you are using a web browser to export from Monday.com, try a different browser and see if the issue persists.
- File Corruption:
- If you are consistently getting a "file is corrupt" error, it might be worth checking if the exported file opens correctly on another machine. This could help determine if the issue is specific to your computer.
- Excel Updates:
- Ensure that your version of Excel is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, issues are resolved in newer updates.
Regarding the trouble opening files with Word (2016), you can try similar troubleshooting steps:
- Check File Format:
- Ensure that the file format is compatible with Word 2016 (e.g., DOCX).
- Try saving the file in a different format and opening it in Word.
- Word Updates:
- Check for updates for Word 2016 and install any available updates.
- File Association:
- Make sure that the file association for Word documents is correctly set. You can try opening Word first and then navigating to the file to see if it opens.
- Antivirus or Security Software:
- Temporarily disable any antivirus or security software and attempt to open the files. Sometimes, security software may interfere with file opening processes.
