Excell will not solve for a formula entered into a cell
When a formula is entered into a cell and hit enter the formula is shown and not the answer.
As I said, the short-cut key should toggle between displaying formulas and displaying results. Perhaps it doesn't work for you. Alternatively, go to File, Options, Advanced tab, scroll down to "Display options for this worksheet" and uncheck the box stating "Show formulas instead of their calculated results".
When I do what you asked the cells with formulas had the formula shown will change back when toggled again. What is happening is some cells will not give the results of the formula but the formula itself. To Lewin's comment I did that. All other formulas in the worksheet work fine and all work ok on another computer
