I am trying to sort and its greyed out?

Make sure that you're not in editing mode in a cell.
Make sure that the worksheet is not protected - if you see 'Unprotect Sheet' in the Protect group of the Review tab of the ribbon, the sheet is protected.
Make sure that only one worksheet is selected. If you see [Group] or - Group - in the title bar of the workbook window, multiple sheets have been selected.
Make sure that the range that you want to sort is not partially within a table and partially outside that table.

I do see group in the title. I’m not sure how I did that? Can you tell me how to take it off?

Right-click any of the highlighted sheet tabs and select 'Ungroup Sheets' from the context menu.
