To protect single cells from editing by another user in a spreadsheet, you can follow these steps:

Lock the cells: Select the cell or cells that you want to protect. Right-click on the selected cells and choose "Format Cells." In the Format Cells dialog box, go to the Protection tab and check the box next to "Locked." Click OK to apply the changes.

Protect the worksheet: Go to the Review tab on the Excel ribbon and click on the Protect Sheet option. In the Protect Sheet dialog box, you can set a password to protect the sheet. Make sure to uncheck the "Select locked cells" option so that users cannot select the locked cells. Click OK to protect the sheet.

Share the workbook: If you are working on a shared workbook, you can also protect cells by sharing the workbook with specific users and assigning different levels of permissions. This way, you can control who can edit which cells in the workbook.

By following these steps, you can protect single cells from editing by another user in a spreadsheet
