Excel

In my assignment it says I highlight the range A2:b6 on the formula ribbon,Defined Names section click on Create from Section.Make sure Left Column is checked. I dont have a Create Names option in my interface what do I DO?

    Please read carefully your assignment, it intends to teach you how to create names with Create from Selection (which is only one of ways to create names). On ribbon it's here

     This option means in column A you have names which will be assigned to related cells in column B. 

     

    I also have no Create Names in my interface.

    The Create from Selection is located in the Defined Names of the Formulas tab as seen below


    The shortcut to apply Create from selection is CTRL + SHIFT +F3.

    So, just select the range A2:B6 and apply the short cut above or click on Create from selection
    In the Create from Selection dialogue box, uncheck Left Column

    Click OK


    When you check the Name Manager or the Name box, you should see the named range.

    You can also go on the main menu to Insert....Name....

     

    You should see something like this:

     

    What your instructions are referring to, though, can be seen here, pretty much in the center of the screen.
