Excel: text representing number

Hello,

I am trying to give a cell with text a numerical value but want t keep the text inside. For example, I want the cell that says 'car medium' = 2.4. So when i do the sum of 4 X 'car medium', that will equal 9.6.

What formula or command should i use to make cells say one thing, but equal another?

  • craggtom21 You could enter the number 2.4 in the cell and apply the custom format

    "'car medium' = "0.0

    or

    "'car medium' = "General
