Excel Sort, Filter and Transfer Data to New Sheet
I have been designing a GANTT chart using Excel with the template given by Microsoft at https://templates.office.com/en-us/gantt-project-planner-tm02887601 and I was curious if something was possible in Excel. A very simplified version of the sheet looks like (which I will refer to as the R sheet):
with a similar second sheet (which I will refer to as the G sheet):
The PRODUCT, LENGTH, WASTED TIME, and DOWNTIME columns are all manually entered and the remaining columns are the calculations for the GANNT chart.
A product from the R sheet will go one at a time through either R1 or R2 (as shown by the chart). Each product then goes to the G sheet, but can go to either G1 or G2, independent of if it's coming from R1 or R2. Currently, it is set up so one may enter the information on the R sheet and then would have to manually filter out all the products going to G1 vs G2, then sort them based on start time, then enter them in the correct order.
Ideally I would like to have it so the information can be entered into the R sheet, then Excel will automatically filter, sort, and transfer the information into the G sheet in a similar way that I have described.
Is there a way to do this? If so, how can it be done? If not, is there something similar or anything else that I could try?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
