Excel Slicers on data model

Aren't slicer connections limited to pivot tables? So if you have a pivot chart, the slicer should be connected to its underlying pivot table.

thank you yes good point, although still, the pivot table name that the pivot chart is connected to does not appear in the slicers 'report connections' list?

I can see there is a relationship established between the two tables through the ID. I am not sure what you mean about pivot cache also, I will have a research

1. Tied to a range directly (classic)
2. Tied to the data model
When you insert a new pivot table, the dialog has a "Data model" checkbox with the obvious effect!
